Background:
I became the youngest published author in South Africa at the age of 9 with my first cookbook, Cook with Josh. Bake with Josh, my second book, was published when I was 11 years old. Both books won Best in the World Gourmand Awards. Cook with Josh also won Best of the Best in 20 Years, as well as Best in 25 Years Gourmand Awards. These books and awards took me to four countries where I experienced new cultures, food and people. In 2015, I was asked to consider doing a travelling cookbook. The idea immediately sounded fantastic, but I knew I had to finish school first. The next few years I focused on my schoolwork and finished school at the age of sixteen. I just finished my second year triple arts studies in Performing Arts.
During lockdown in 2020, I decided to spend the time to do Food Journey with Josh, which was a dream for a couple of years. This in itself had a couple of obstacles. Only essential goods were available in stores, therefore it was very difficult to find some of the ingredients at that stage. My dad built a lightbox and took all the photos. Everything that were used for styling were things we had in our home. Going through all our photos were a wonderful trip down memory lane for us.
The book includes the following:

I believe this book is the perfect book for the whole family. With all the travelling, tasting new food, meeting new people, I realized that food is the golden thread bringing people together. And as inspiration to all the young children: “Dream big and most importantly…all things are possible through the strength that we receive in Christ”.
